OUR PROGRAMS
PRE-PRIMARY
In our Pre-Primary program, a warm and nurturing environment welcomes two-year-olds, fostering their social and emotional development. Through gentle guidance and positive interactions, children learn kindness and consideration for others, while also acquiring self-calming strategies to manage their emotions effectively. We celebrate each child's unique achievements, building confidence and self-esteem. Even diapering and toileting routines become opportunities to develop independence and self-help skills. Our teachers provide gentle support and encouragement, always respecting each child's pace of development. Positive reinforcement, redirection, and clear, simple language guide children towards appropriate behavior. Our ultimate goal is to cultivate a positive and respectful classroom community where every child feels valued and secure.
PRIMARY
The Montessori primary program is a vibrant three-year journey for children aged three to six. We recognize that young learners develop at their own pace, therefore we three-year-olds choose a half-day program to gently ease into the classroom routine.
This mixed-age environment offers a unique advantage: natural peer learning. Older children become role models for their younger peers, demonstrating skills and fostering a sense of accomplishment. By teaching what they know, they solidify their own understanding and gain confidence. Younger children are inspired by the achievements of their older classmates, eager to learn and grow alongside them.
The benefits of collaborative learning extend far beyond academics. This approach cultivates a positive classroom climate that strengthens social bonds, builds self-esteem, and nurtures leadership skills in all our students.
LOWER ELEMENTARY
Our Lower Elementary program, designed for children ages 6-9, fosters a dynamic learning environment where children can explore their passions and develop a strong sense of self within the classroom community. Through our engaging curriculum, children gain a deeper understanding of their place in the world.
Montessori's "cosmic curriculum" encompasses a wide range of subjects, including math, geometry, grammar, language arts, geography, history, reading, and writing. Utilizing hands-on materials and real-life examples, this curriculum empowers children to move from concrete experiences to abstract thinking. As children delve into interconnected topics, their curiosity flourishes, naturally promoting collaboration and social interaction.
We recognize that each child learns at their own pace and in their own unique way. Our Montessori-trained teachers provide a wealth of opportunities that cater to individual needs, ensuring children develop essential academic skills in a way that fosters a lifelong love of learning.
TEACHER TRAINING CENTER
Neshaminy Montessori strives to provide an excellent educational experience for young children following the Montessori Method. In that same tradition, the Neshaminy Montessori School is opening a center to train exceptional teachers for the Montessori Primary classroom.
This training program will enable adult learners to recognize, protect, encourage, and respect each child’s emotional, physical, and intellectual needs as they learn the tenets of the Montessori Method. Teachers in the program will design high-quality learning experiences that will enable these young children to realize their full academic and social potential. In addition, teachers in training will learn how to guide the children to grow into their roles as responsible global citizens.
